Pine Marten

Although pine marten male-female bonds are temporary, males may guard a mated female through territory defense if his range encompasses hers.

Pine marten male-female bonds are transitory as the pine marten is generally solitary.

Field studies indicate that males may successfully guard a mated female through territory defense if his range encompasses that of the female.
