Javan Rhinoceros

The Javan rhinoceros mates between July and November and females become sexually mature earlier than males.

The Javan rhinoceros’ mating season occurs roughly from July to November.

It is assumed, based on the biology of the closely related Indian rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis), or greater one-horned rhino, that female Javan rhinoceros become sexually mature between three-six years and males after six years, possibly as late as ten years old.
