Javan Rhinoceros

The Javan rhinoceros’ gestation and inter-birth intervals are unknown, but are presumed to be similar to other rhinos, with a single calf being born after a gestation of 15-16 months every 2-3 years.

The Javan rhinoceros’ gestation period is unknown, but is presumed to be approximately 15-16 months, as in other rhino species, like the closely related Indian rhinoceros (Rhinoceros unicornis), or greater one-horned rhino.

Inter-birth intervals are also unknown, but mothers are estimated to give birth to a single calf approximately every 2-3 years.
