Spectacled Bear (Tremarctos ornatus)

FaunaFocus is featuring its first ursine species, the spectacled bear! This thickly furred bear is the only bear species native to South America and is the last remaining species of short-nosed bear. It is listed as “Vulnerable” on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.
