There is a high infant mortality rate in ring-tailed lemurs as 30-50% don’t survive their first year.

There is a high infant mortality rate in ring-tailed lemurs. 30 to 50% of lemur infants do not make it through their first year of life.

This mortality rate decreases if the mother is older in age, at about 3 to 4 years of age, or has previously given birth.
