Javan Rhinoceros

The Javan rhinoceros is threatened by the invasive Arenga palm, which is having a devastating impact on the plants the rhino relies on for food.

Within the Ujung Kulon National Park that the Javan rhinoceros resides, the rhino is threatened by the invasive Arenga palm, which is having a devastating impact on the plants the rhino relies on for food.

The World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF) is conducting studies to increase the availability of the rhino’s natural food supply by halting and reversing the invasion of Arenga palm.
