This drawing is a mix of traditional and digital mediums. I initially sketched it with a mechanical pencil, then scanned that page onto my laptop. I then used Photoshop to edit the sketch & add colour/shadow. I’ve really enjoyed this method as it seems to add more depth. I also find it more fun than if the whole piece was done digitally 🙂 With the colour scheme I tried to keep it simple by using complimentary colours – a blend of oranges & de-saturated blues. I tried to convey the spirit and curiosity behind the eyes of the animal.
