Female gerenuks give birth to 1 offspring, rarely 2, after a gestation period of 165 days, any time throughout the year depending on the quality of available nutrition.

Gerenuk females breed every one to two years, depending on the sex of their previous year’s offspring as male gerenuks are dependent on their mothers for longer than females.
