April 2021: Annamite Striped Rabbit

Annamite Striped Rabbit (Nesolagus timminsi)

Throughout the month of March 2021, FaunaFocus will feature its first lagomorph, the Annamite striped rabbit!

The Annamite striped rabbit is a small, beautifully-patterned lagomorph endemic to the Annamites of Laos and Vietnam. This nocturnal herbivore forages the understory at night. Considered “Endangered,” this creature is threatened by hunting and agriculture.
