Free-For-All: White-Nosed Coati

FFA

Cora is going through a rebellious teenager phase, and has left her troop to go journey the world and become an all powerful witch! However, along the way, she got a little hungry, so she used her magic to transport her favorite pot to cook with, a toadstool to sit on, and all the bugs a girl can eat from a special storage place in another world.

The FaunaFocus Free-For-All is an art competition that is open to all and is intended to foster community-based learning while celebrating successes and encouraging artists to improve from discipline and criteria.

October 2020’s Free-For-All featured the white-nosed coati.

Sarah challenged herself to create a thriving scene for her coati character, Cora. By using what she’s learned from recent color studies, Sarah was able to utilize a limited color palette and use hues in a more adventurous manner. This whimsical use of media created a gentle, storybook-like artwork.
