Free-For-All: Okapi

Danji Isthmus digitally painted a long vertical piece featuring the varied stripes of the okapi’s hindquarters deconstructing into a colorful composition full of particles and vivid details. With white and black moths flying about the animal and the stripes seemingly disintegrating into the background, the illustration gives a whimsical, fantasy-like feeling.

Free-For-All: Beluga Whale

ActivateAngel created an unusually complex composition crafted with simplistic elements. This graphic design utilized just four colors to create a family portrait of an adult beluga whale and its younger sibling. With bright, saturated colors and a cartoon-like stylization of the belugas’ expressions, this piece radiates with a fun and calming energy.

Free-For-All: Bearded Vulture

Draws with Kitties' first attempt at charcoal, depicts an atmospheric, achromatic illustration of a bearded vulture character skulking about a shrouded graveyard. With a lantern in hand, this creature is beautifully lit, allowing the viewer to feel as if he is peering from behind the tombstones, taking note of all the feathers and bones that adorn the peculiar individual. Mist and fog obscure the area and add to the eerie unsettling feeling.

Free-For-All: Dhole

Shane S. (Yodeldog) painted an ecstatic and vibrant depiction of a dancing dhole loving life and surrounded by a rainbow of colors. Inspired by the Hopi Festival that takes place in India, a natural habitat for the Indian wild dog, this piece highlighted the culture that surrounds this animal in a pleasing and stylized fashion. With neon hues and graphic shapes, this piece was skillfully composed and clearly demonstrated joy.

Free-For-All: Green Turtle

TheMissFox painted an impressive illustration of a green turtle amidst a sea of greens and blues. Mostly depicted in cool colors, the turtle is composed within the sea amongst heavily textured coral and vegetation. Slight accents of yellows and browns allow for warm tones to complement the color scheme and create a harmonious painting altogether.

Free-For-All: Ocellated Turkey

Zoe’s traditional composition was well-constructed with contrasting elements that came together to create an interesting composition. A sense of duality was created as the ocellated turkey was drawn in full-frame in the foreground using a monochromatic color scheme contrasting with a close-up of the bird’s colorful feathers painted in the full chroma of shades.
